  • Healthy New Year Challenge – Week 6

    Hi Everyone!

The 6th week of the Healthy New Year Challenge finally arrived, this is the last week and I’m already miss it!

Last challenge went well, I took more protein, drank more, I paid attention to the portion and walked a lot in the last few days! 🙂

    And now:

The last week brought the hardest challenge: Finding balance!

Finding balance is hard and important, not just in eating healthy, living healthy but generally in life. So this challenge will give my some headache, but I really hope I’ll find balance at least in eating and living healthier..

Okay, that’s all for now 😉

Keep calm, tomorrow is finally Friday! 🙂

(PS.:We’ll celebrate my brother’s birthday so relatives are coming, it’s gonna be a tiring day…)

  • Healthy New Year Challenge – Week 5

    Hi Everyone!

I’m back to work! Yay! (Well, it’s not necessarily means I’m fully healthy, though) Also it’s our half anniversary today, Laci and I’ve been together for 7.5 years now! 😀 Aaand, only 15 days to the Blog’s first Blogiversary! Yay again!

About the Healthy New Year Challenge…Well I didn’t really succeed the whole grain challenge. The only whole grains I was able to purchase are whole oats and popcorn. But, I ate oat everyday, is that count?

While I was bedridden last week, I could hardly complete the daily hydration goal, this week is better, though, still don’t and can’t exercise, but the portion control goes well. I can’t wait to see some result!

Okay, so this week’s challenge is: Boosting Protein

I love this, I know how important the protein intake when ones on weight loss journey. The increased protein intake prevents you to lose weight from your muscles instead of the fat. So since I started to live healthier, I pay attention to intake more protein, it doesn’t mean, of course, that I always succeed! I ate more yoghurt (however, now that I think about it lately I eat less of it…), eat more eggs, chicken, marine fish and foods like that but somehow my protein intake was still low. Few weeks ago I went for the local drugstore to look for some protein powder (that doesn’t contain a lot of unnecessarily ingredients, goodness knows what they do to you…). So hopefully I’ll be able to boost my protein intake! 🙂

Hope you have a great week! 🙂

  • Healthy New Year Challenge – Week 4

    Hi!

Okay, so we’re officially done with the half of the Healthy New Year Challenge! Yay! But I just realized how much I’ll miss this after the 6th week…

Anyway, I’m doing great so far, but since I’m still bedridden because of the sinusitis, the exercise challenge still pending. I accomplished the last week’s challenge, since I had no appetite at all….

Now, this week’s challenge iis: Incorporating whole grains into your diet!

Okay, so first of all I had to look it up, I mean I live in a small town, we don’t really have whole grain products in our stores apart from some oat and millet. So as soon as I’m able to craw out of my sickness and my bed, I’ll go and search the stores for whole grains. Hopefully I’ll not just complete this challenge, but I’ll share some recipe if I’ll be better.

Untill then, have a great weekend and please pray for my great-grandmother!

  • Healthy New Year Challenge – Week 3

    Hey! 🙂

I survived the Week 2 of the Healthy New Year Challenge! To tell the truth, I wanted to be more active, but I was sick (constant headache, running nose, coughing and a little fever). Still, I managed to walk more and even went for a mile run! *proud* It’s unbelievable, how I missed running, even if I caught all day afterward and probably that’s way I’m even more ill, but it still worth it.

Anyway, this week’s challenge is Portion control! I can’t say enough that healthy eating is based on balance and moderation!

I use a Hungarian site to count calories and pay attention to portion control. My daily limit is 1400 kcal, so this week’s challenge will be to rather eat smaller portions than just 2-3 larger.

The Healthy New Year Challenge covered the 3 most important (and for me the hardest) challenges of the weight loss so far. Hopefully I’ll be able to keep up with all the challenges, lose weight and become healthier.

It’s still not too late to join us!

Now all I have to do is to get better, be more active, stay hydrate and pay attention to portion control.

  • Healthy New Year Challenge – Week 2

    Hi Everyone!

The first week of the Healthy New Year Challenge just ended. As I mention in my previous post, the last week’s challenge was Hydration. Right now, I’m very proud of myself, I managed it really well. I drank about 100-120 oz. fluid a day.
