On contray to its name, it doesn’t taste greeny at all, but it’s deliciouly fruity. So it’s a great way to consume your greens and vitamins without even thinking about it.

This is the first proper recipe I used Spirulina powder in and I really liked the color, also the fact that you can’t taste it at all. The only other time I used it when I dissolved it in milk as a tryout, and since I couldn’t taste it there (except the little lump I didn’t mix in properly) I decided on a smoothie for next. However, I found the smell of the powder alarming, but thankfully it didn’t tase like that.

  • Squeeze the lime and pour it in the blender, as well as the orange juice.
  • Add the spinach and the spirulina powder.

  • Filter the smoothie with a sieve. so you won’t have pomegranate seed pieces in it.
  • Add the ice cubes.
  • Decorate it with some pomegranate seeds.

Notes

You can add sweetener, I’d recommend honey or agave for vegans.

Question time:

  • Have you tried spirulina powder yet? If so, what do you think about it? If not, do you plan to or nah?
  • What’s your superfood of your choice?
  • What’s your current favorite smoothie?
  • Smoothies or smoothie bowls?
  • How do you make sure you got your daily vitamins in these colder seasons?
  • Smoothies or juices?
