After the first cup of Chai Latte I drank last year, I knew I was hooked. The combination of the warm, aromatic spices, the black tea, and the milk wasn’t something I’ve tried before but worked so well together.

Unfortunately, I haven’t found a chai mix, flavored tea, or even a chai syrup I could use to make chai latte at home for a long time. So this year I decided to buy the spices, grind and mix them myself, and make chai latte from scratch!

I honestly loved the result, it was warm, spicy, but not overpowering.

It’s most definitly not the traditional way to make Chai Latte, but it’s quick, simple, and still tastes amazing! Oh and since you’ll only need a teaspoon of the chai mix, this batch of mix will lasts for a long time!

Chai Spice Mix

  • Add the whole spices to the spice grinder.
  • Add the rest of your spices to the grinder to mix everything well.
  • Store your spice mix in an airtight spice jar.

Latte

  • Heat your milk of choice.
  • Add the black tea bag to the milk. Steep if for a few minutes. (You can make black tea separately, but I don’t like my chai latte watery)
  • Add a teaspoon of the Chai Spice Mix to your milk, mix it well, then strain it.
  • Add the sweetener of your choice.
  • Froth your milk.
  • Add a pinch of the spice mix as a garnish when you serve it.
