Our first time ever at a sea, we were enjoying Croatia and the Adriatic Sea at our Senj Vacation! Warm weather, salty sea and a lot of swimming!
However, for most of the vacation I wasn’t feeling well (the sadly usual illness) and on the first day I even had a fever, I tried my best to enjoy every minute of that opportunity!
Senj – Vacation 2017 Part 2
We were really happy to get out of the car after 6+ hours driving behind us!
First of all, we had an amazing apartment for such a low price, it surprised me! It was clean, perfectly equipped with everything we needed and the neighborhood was nice and quiet! Our balcony faced the sea, which was on the other side of the road. The only thing we didn’t like was the soft bed, I mean I know a lot of people like soft beds, but not this girl…my back was killing me the whole time.
The second thing I have to note is that we were very lucky with the weather! When we arrived, it was windy but warm and sunny and beside the last 3 days, we had an amazing hot and sunny weather, perfect for enjoying the sea!
That afternoon when we arrived, just an hour after we packed out, we headed to the nearest beach. My first experience of the sea was surreal and amazing.
The water was cold, but after a few minutes, we got used to it. What surprised me the most is the sea really held me up! I heard it before, but you know, you don’t believe things until you experience them. Well, this was one of those things! The other thing was the saltiness of the sea, oh boy, that was salty and bitter! Also, I learned that the sea shoes are really a must (thankfully we had them on!), the stones are very slippery and the rocks can leave bruises for weeks!
That night, the view from our balcony was gorgeous! Sadly I couldn’t enjoy it for long before I was feeling worse, but I savored it as long as I could!
Thankfully, the next day I felt so much better, only the sore throat left behind – for almost the rest of the vacation -.
Senj is a small, but gorgeous city! I enjoyed the view every time we went for a walk.
This decor boat was hanging there constantly, truly a postcard material.
I found this lovely House of Souvenirs – which I saw open only once – and could miss the opportunity to snap some pics of it.
The port was one of our daily targets, besides the beaches, and each day it was different!
Oh, look at how clear the sea was! And it was full of fishes constantly! So gorgeous!
Also, it was my first time to see seagulls in flesh. And oh boy, they’re huge! I mean they look so much bigger in flesh, than in TV or picture!
We visited the Nehaj Fortress, walking up on the hill was worth a complete workout, but the view worth it! We didn’t go inside, but it was still nice to check it out from close.
After all the walking and the afternoon swimming, we were soo tired! But we fit an evening selfie into our day.
We found another beach in Senj, which was a little hidden. This was the place where I had one of my most epic experiences of my life!
What do I mean by epic experience? Well, you may know that I’m so-so scared of heights. I’ve actually sucked it up and jumped off of this spring board! I mean it wasn’t that high, but I went for it! (Laci took a video of it, but I’d rather not show that, I looked like a runningterrifieded chicken)
After the whole shock of what I just did, I started to savor the view! It was fantastic!
Senj was so gorgeous at night with all those twinkling lights and the sound of the sea!
Our next day stop was the Krk Island! Where we found an amazing beach! I never thought I’d ever visit a beach like that. It was one of those typical beaches you see in TV and videos!
It was crowded, but no one was rude, unlike in Csopak…So we could enjoy the sunbathing just as well as the swimming!
The Sun blinded us, but who cares! We had a great day there too!
There was this lovely street in Senj, full of restaurants and souvenir shops! I loved the garland hanging above us!
So colorful and cheerful! Such a lovely idea!
We spend the day – beside being on the beach – with taking pics around Senj.
What I’ll miss about this vacation the most are the sound of the sea, swimming in the sea, the clear air and the colorful fishes swimming around us!
Before we left, we took a last picture at the 45th parallel, where we were exactly 5000 km from the North pole and the Equator!
We already miss the vacation and our tanning is already fading, but the memories and the pics will stay with us!
Pin it for later
