Dad’s birthday was on last week, now he’s 50 years old! 😀 We usually celebrate the family birthdays, name days (yes, we have name days… :D) and other holidays in the circle of my family (my grandparents, my aunt, her companion, my cousins and my parents, my brother and my fiancé and I). You can imagine how hard it can be to have a date when everyone is free. So we held my dad’s birthday yesterday, I made Mummy hot dog/Pig in blanket.
It’s really simple, but our guests loved it.
Ingredients:
- 1 package Puff pastry
- 16-20 Hot dogs
- 2 Egg
- sesame seed
- Seasoning
First of all, pre-heat the oven! Roll out the puff pastry as thin as you can without tear it. Beat the eggs with the seasoning, use the spices you like. Coat the pastry with the egg wash, cut it into stripes. Wrap the stripes around the hot dogs.
Aaand this was the time I stopped, I looked at the wrapped hot dogs.
Don’t they just looks like mummies?? I mean mummy hot dogs! Well, I think my mind is already around the Halloween…but you can’t start the preparations soon enough, right? Even if we don’t have Halloween.
So now that they’re wrapped, coat them again with the same egg wash then add some sesame seed (if you like them).
Put them into the pre-heated oven and bake them for about 15-20 minutes. I served them with my Thai sauce.
What is your favorite appetizer?
