Last week’s challenge was ‘Healthy Game Day Snack’. So I made flavorful cuban quesadillas. They’re quite simple, ready within minutes and the flavors bursts in your mouth!

Brush the puff pastry with the seasoned mustard then sprinkled on it the ham and the pickles.

Sprinkle the grated cheese on it too.

Slice the pastry into 15-50 cm ribbons. Fold them in half (keep its length). Cut the ribbons into triangles.

Bake them for 20 minutes, turn them over about half time.

I also made a quick dip and it turned out to be a great idea, my dip highlighted the quesadilla’s flavors even more.

Cuban Quesadilla - Healthy New Year Six-Week Challenge Week 5

Flavorful, healthy game day snack, the delicious cuban quesadilla filled with ham, cheese, pickles and mustard.

Ingredients

  • 500 gr Puff Pastry
  • 1 tbsp Mustard
  • 3 Pickles
  • 200 gr Ham
  • 1 cup grated Cheese
  • Salt pepper, chilli. garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp Sour Cream
  • 1 tbsp Shrimp Cocktail Sauce
  • Salt pepper, chilli. garlic powder

Instructions

  • Quesadilla:
  • Pre heat the oven.
  • Roll out the Puff pastry
  • Mix the mustard with the spices
  • Brush the puff pastry with the seasoned mustard
  • Dice the ham and the pickles
  • Sprinkled the ham, pickles and grated cheese on the pastry.
  • Slice the pastry into 15-50 cm ribbons. Fold them in half (keep its length). Cut the ribbons into triangles.
  • Bake them for 20 minutes, turn them over about half time.
  • Dip:
  • Mix everything together.
  • Serve it cold.

This and the last week’s challenge is a real challenge for me!
Incorporating Full Fat Foods into a Healthy Diet!
Hard to find healthy fats, even harder to incorporating it into my diet. But it’s interesting, so I can’t wait find out about it more!
