Can’t believe Christmas 2016 is over already! It feels like I just started Blogmas and now I’m here with the Christmas summary.
We had a relaxed Holiday, but it flew by so unbelievably fast, I’m a little sad it’s over. However, I’m excited about the New Year!
Also excited about the annual Healthy New Year Challenge, which is now 28 Day to a Healthier New You!
If you read my Blogmas or my previous Christmas posts, you probably know how different our traditions are. In case you missed them: On Christmas Eve day we decorate the tree, we do the cooking and the baking, relax, watch films and then we have the dinner and open the presents.
So on Christmas day we visit the relatives, have family lunch and open their presents there. That means we have one lunch at my grandmothers, one here, one at my aunts and one with Laci’s family. Now anyhow I count, it means we have 4 days of Christmas after Christmas Eve…That’s a lot! Also, that’s why I’m writing this post now and not days before.
Christmas 2016
Our Christmas Eve dinner was Chicken Dubarry (or Chicken Du Barry), which is one of the most comforting meals ever! It’s made with chicken breast, cauliflower, and bechamel sauce with melted cheese on the top!
Also, my mother made her delicious Creamy Chicken Breasts in Carrot Cream Sauce, which is also one of my favorites!
The carrot and the turmeric make it so beautifully golden color!
After dinner, we lit some scented candles and the four candles on the Advent wreath. They smelled amazing, just like Christmas (probably the smell of the Christmas tree helped a lot).
Besides the scent of the candles, the decoration of the tree was classic as well, I love it!
Under the Christmas tree, the presents were waiting for us and we were just as excited as a kid!
I get the 2nd and 3rd book of Darynda Jones’ Charley Davidson (the Hungarian version), some cookbooks and a lot more amazing presents. But still, my best present was (besides my mom’s negative tests) my family’s happiness as they opened their presents. It’s priceless!
I really hope you had a wonderful time, ate and laughed a lot! I’ll come with some delicious recipes and my annual Best of, still in this year!
