Hungarian Chilled Sour Cherry Soup - Hideg Meggyleves

Hungarian Chilled Sour Cherry Soup is a traditional, delicious cold soup we usually serve on hot summer days, but a perfect appetizer all year long. It's light, sweet, sour, cold, and creamy!

  • 1 jar Sour Cherry
  • 4 cups Milk of your choice
  • Sugar/Honey or sweetener of your choice
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/2 pack Instant Vanilla Pudding


  • Drain the jar of sour cherry. (Save the juice)
  • Pour the milk, and the juice into a mixing bowl.
  • Add the sugar, or honey (or the sweetener of your choice.)
  • Add the instant vanilla pudding powder and mix everything well.
  • Add the sour cherry, stir it.
  • Put it in the fridge to chill for 30 minutes.
  • Serve it cold, with the topping of your choice.
