Pork Cauliflower Casserole

Simple, quick, filling pork cauliflower casserole. Perfect choice for a summer dinner or lunch.

Ingredients

  • 1 head of cauliflower
  • 500 gr minced pork
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • trappist cheese
  • 1 tbsp butter/margarine flour
  • 5 dl milk 2.5 cup
  • 1 tsp salt pepper, nutmeg (for the bechamel)
  • 1 tsp salt pepper, onion paste (for the meat)
  • 0.5 tsp cayenne thyme, cumin, turmeric (for the meat)
  • 1 onion

Instructions

  • Preparation: Clean and cut the cauliflower.
  • Add to boiling water and cook it for about 10-15 minutes, it depends on the size of the flowers.
  • Preheat a pan with a little oil.
  • Add the oinion and sauté them.
  • Season the minced meat, let it rest while the onion sauté.
  • When the onio has a golden color, add the meat and fry it for about 15 minutes.
  • Bechamel: Pre heat a saucepan. Add the butter/margarine and the seasoning. Melt the butter, add the flour and the milk. First just about the half of the milk. Stir it quickly to avoid the lumps, then add the remaining milk. Cook it until it's thickens.
  • Baking: Pre heat the oven.
  • Prepare a casserole and pour the minced pork into when it's done.
  • Next, arrange the cooked cauliflower onto the meat.
  • Pour the bechamel onto them.
  • Bake the pork cauliflower casserole for 10 minutes.
  • After 10 minutes grate some cheese on the top of the bechamel and sprinkle the top of the cheese with a little cayenne and turmeric. Bake it 10 more minutes.
