Happy April’s Fool Everyone!

In honor of April I’m gonna share a lovely color dessert. It’s gonna be a quick and simple one with the refreshing taste of blood orange. The Blood Orange Tiramisu.

I love blood orange desserts, I didn’t know it since last year.

My grandmother used to make a dessert called ‘Favorite slice’ and to tell the truth I’ve never know what flavor is it…Last year I asked her and really surprised me when she said it’s blood orange. So when I need a really refreshing and not too sweet recipe, I make it with blood orange flavor.

After I shared the Dessert in Glass I wanted a little more formal version of it and tiramisu was the first I thought about. To make a twist of the tiramisu, I swapped the coffee with blood orange.

Ingredients:

  • 200 gr Sponge fingers
  • 200 gr Mascarpone
  • 400 gr Plain/Greek yoghurt
  • 1 tbsp Honey/Sugar
  • Blood orange extract

Mix the mascarpone, the yoghurt, the honey and the extract in a larger bowl. Start the layering in a casserole (or any form you like), first a little cream, then the sponge fingers and so on, finish it with the cream. Put the tiramisu in the fridge for a few hours, the more the better!

It’s really refreshing and I love the lovely shade of pink color. Really worth to try it! 😉
